Advocacy Training 106 with The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade
YWCA South Florida is excited to partner with The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade for Advocacy Training 106, an empowering and informative event designed to equip changemakers with the tools to make a real impact on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m.
This hybrid training will be held in person at Miami Dade College and virtually via Zoom. Participants will learn how to effectively advocate for their communities while staying within the legal guidelines of 501(c)(3) organizations. This training will offer actionable strategies to drive policy change at the local and state levels.

The State of Black Philanthropy Celebration
YWCA South Florida is honored to be spotlighted during the Miami Foundation’s 10th Annual State of Black Philanthropy. This free community celebration honors the joy, generosity, and strength of Miami’s Black community. Complete with a DJ, dancing, local Miami artists, vendors, and leaders, we will recognize the power and influence of Black philanthropy together.

Bared and Beautiful: 10 Days of Connection
Bared & Beautiful: The Art of Breastfeeding is an open mic event and art exhibition that invites mothers and fathers, lactation professionals, birth workers, allies, and the greater community to share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about breastfeeding.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of art, storytelling, poetry, and conversation about the beauty, challenges, and power of breastfeeding! Art will be exhibited from May 7th-9th in the Ansin and Center for Excellence (CFE) buildings at United Way of Miami-Dade.

Divine Feminine Painting the Sky Healing Circle: 10 Days of Connection
YWCA South Florida is thrilled to join 10 Days of Connection, Fanm Saj and Yaya Por Vida for Divine Feminine Painting the Sky Healing Circle as we explore the Divine Feminine and its intersections through Art, Cuisine and Ancestral Practice. We will be utilizing Restorative Justice principles of circle keeping through storytelling, building collective values, and using our hands as an art tool for healing.
We encourage participants to bring a dish that represents their culture and celebrate connection within our diverse community. Resources for Harm Reduction, Reproductive Healing, Domestic Violence Prevention and Ancestral Spiritual Practices will be available.

Chocolate Milk: The Documentary Screening
YWCA South Florida and the Florida Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc. are proud to host a special community screening of Chocolate Milk: The Documentary. This powerful film explores the experiences of Black mothers in breastfeeding, highlighting the challenges, triumphs, and the crucial role of family and community support.

Miami-Dade Commission for Women- Honoring Our Heroes: Women Veterans of Miami-Dade
A special exhibit and ceremony in partnership with the South Dade Women’s Veterans Alliance honoring 10 outstanding women veterans from Miami-Dade County. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guest speakers and a visual exhibit.

MOCA and YWCA Present: The Life Cycle Community Gathering
Join YWCA and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) for a transformative day of learning and healing to celebrate women and girls at all stages of life at The Life Cycle Community Gathering on Sunday, March 16 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This free event offers a unique opportunity to explore holistic well-being through insightful conversations on life transitions, interactive creative workshops, and a movement session led by exhibiting artist Smita Sen.

Black Family Wellness Expo
Discover comprehensive approaches to family health and wellness through interactive experiences designed for all ages. The 2025 Black Family Wellness Expo: Pathways to Health takes place on Saturday, March 15 at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex in Miami Gardens. This community health event, presented by the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust, offers participants practical tools and resources for enhancing both physical and mental well-being. Attendees can participate in fitness classes, explore informational exhibits and engage in hands-on workshops focused on developing sustainable healthy lifestyle practices.

Matched Savings Program
YWCA South Florida’s Matched Savings Program is designed to strengthen the habit of saving for unexpected circumstances. Matched Savings Accounts, also known as Individual Development Accounts (IDAs), help people reach specific goals by doubling, or even quadrupling their individual savings. You set a savings goal, make monthly savings contributions toward that goal, and then receive a matching grant when you succeed. Along the way, you also receive financial education and counseling to help you achieve your goal.
🔸 Must be a resident of Miami Dade County
🔸 Must attend ALL four financial literacy workshops in order to qualify
🔸 Each participant earns a dollar in matching funds for every dollar saved up to $1000
