YWCA South Florida has long advocated for the health and safety of women and girls.
We seek to improve the lives of women and girls by providing high-quality health and wellness programs that are too often not available to communities of color.
YWCA South Florida’s Economic Empowerment Program teaches women how to close the income gap and increase financial literacy to gain life-long independence, autonomy, and freedom.
Our health programs are focused on increasing access to health care and the reduction of racial health disparities.
Family Wellness Program
The Family Wellness Program at the YWCA has provided health education and prevention services for over 20 years. We provide life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings, as well as education and services for obesity prevention/reduction, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and stress management/reduction.
Our team works to provide a comprehensive system of client outreach, prevention, intervention, referrals, and follow-up, we will help our clients’ access to health care services and education and improve their health status. We work with community partners to provide services to Miami’s diverse population in their native language.
