The Ripple Effect

Led by YWCA South Florida and funded in part by The Children’s Trust, The Ripple Effect Initiative aims to spread and embed positive organizational principles across community service providers in Miami-Dade County to promote awareness and practice of social and emotional well-being as well as equity for children and families of all backgrounds.

The initiative brings together a variety of trainings (in person and virtual), courses, events, and resources from YWCA South Florida and our Ripple Effect Collaborative Partners: Community Learning Coalition, Equality Florida, Florida Association for Infant Mental Health, GladEd Leadership Solutions, Miami Homes for All, NAMI Miami-Dade, ThinkBeyond Public Relations, Trinity Church Peacemakers and University of Miami Team COACH.

Explore the Guided Path for Social Emotional Wellness

The Guided Path for Social Emotional Wellness was created by the University of Miami for families and providers to more quickly and efficiently find the services in Miami-Dade County that best fits their unique needs. Providers funded by the Children’s Trust are listed with information about their location of services, hours of availability, the specific services they offer (e.g., group parenting, individual treatment, etc.), and the language in which these services are offered. Caregivers can navigate the GPS to find services that may fit their or their child’s needs, including both treatment programs and resources in the community. Providers can also use this resource to help families find the complementary services to support the families they serve. For example, a provider who does individual treatment with a family may use the GPS to help them find a group parenting intervention near them. Lastly, the GPS includes a section for providers to find resources related to improving their own social emotional wellness in the workplace and beyond. Overall, the use of this tool is meant to increase family access to free, high-quality services in Miami-Dade.
