Ending the Silence

Ending the Silence is a dynamic mental health intervention and education program designed for staff working with youth and families including, but not limited to, educators, social workers, youth counselors, family service coordinators, community outreach workers, and any professional who regularly interacts with young people and their families in their work. This training initiative, delivered virtually through Zoom by NAMI Miami-Dade, empowers participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to identify, understand, and respond effectively to mental health warning signs in the populations they serve. The evidence-informed program covers essential topics including recognizing early warning signs of mental health conditions, understanding the impact of trauma and stress on youth development, developing effective communication strategies for sensitive conversations, and building a toolkit of intervention techniques and community resources.
